GOALS FOR 2005-2006

1. Expand college enrollments according to the Five-Year Program Plan and increase college participation in the Honors Program.

2. Increase enrollments at Tifton and Griffin majors to target levels, establish a Master of Ag Leadership on the Tifton Campus and provide instructional resources consistent with teaching and advising loads on those campuses.

3. Promote increases in extramural funding consistent with the College’s Five Year Program Plan.

4. Direct appropriated resources into high priority, highly-productive areas, rebuild research capabilities through the refilling of a limited number of faculty positions in high priority areas and downsize and consolidate operations at research and education centers as well as field operations.

5. Critically examine the designation and structure of secondary organizations in the College, including formal and informal centers. Identify organizations with the capacity for becoming formal centers, establish a schedule for achieving center status and re-defining the remaining organizations as needed. Develop and seek official center status for the Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture and the Food Product Innovation and Commercialization Center. (Food PIC).

6. Develop operational plans and processes for the Georgia Center for Innovation in Agriculture while shepherding the first round of agribusiness projects through the Center and establish staffing, operations and sales procedures for the Tifton Conference Center.

7. Successfully establish the Archway County concept with Public Service and Outreach.

8. Implement plans for obtaining new and higher county contributions for Extension agent positions.

9. Coordinate the planning and construction of small cap projects approved in the FY’06 budget including the animal facilities and the Rock Eagle dining hall.
